Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, John grew up playing sports, camping and travelling. Throughout middle and high school, John was a nationally ranked tennis player with hopes to play at the collegiate level. His latter years in high school, however, were overtaken by a passion for music. John began playing piano in 2012, followed shortly by playing guitar and writing songs. By his senior year of high school, John was self-recording and producing his own album to launch on platforms such as Spotify and iTunes. In 2015, his music career followed him to the College of Charleston, where he began studying in the School of Business.
In early 2016, after an increasing interest in photography, John emptied his bank account to purchase his first DSLR camera. Initially undertaking photography as a pastime, John quickly realized it had potential for much more. By 2017, he was taking on clients and traveling around the world on assignments. From Utah to New Zealand, John has gained professional experience in landscape and lifestyle photography, as well as promotional motion pictures.
In the fall of 2017, after 6 months of traveling, John landed back in Charleston to continue his education in marketing. Shortly after settling in, John founded Schumacher Studios in hopes to better communicate his mission to his clients and audience. Schumacher Studios exists because John believes for someone to truly love something, they need to first know its essence. Through photography and videography, John strives to capture the incredible stories that live within each person, each company and each movement. He is available for content creation worldwide. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
